Don’t Forget About Veteran Aid & Attendance Benefits

August 17, 2011Veterans Benefits

If you’re a veteran who is struggling to get by, you may be able to take advantage of veteran aid & attendance benefits. This pension program was created to assist veterans and their spouses with their long-term care needs.  Take a look at the following information to learn more about this program.  If you have any questions, or if you’d like to learn how to apply for veteran aid & attendance benefits, contact an estate planning attorney who is accredited by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs; these attorneys have received special training on the laws and application process for these little-known benefits.

In order to take advantage of this pension program, you will need to prove that you need assistance with everyday care.  This may include bathing, cooking, eating, and medical care needs.  You will also need to meet other eligibility requirements.  With the help of this pension, you can be able to afford the care that you need and deserve.  It can also make it possible for you to afford your other needs.

Unfortunately, many veterans and their spouses don’t know that these benefits exist.  This means that many people miss out on these benefits.  It’s important to carefully review the eligibility requirements before applying.  This will allow you to have a better chance of taking advantage of this opportunity.

In order to apply for these benefits, you will need to have certain documents as evidence.  You will also need to go through a lengthy application process.  An estate planning attorney can help you better understand the entire process, and can help you apply.

If you’ve been struggling to pay for your extra care costs, there may be hope. Talk with your attorney to better understand all of your options.  As a veteran, there are different programs that may be able to assist you with your needs, and you should take advantage of these opportunities.

If you have any questions about veteran aid & attendance eligibility requirements, consult with a qualified estate planning attorney who is accredited by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
